Security Analyst Job Description

Security analysts are professionals who support the goals and policies of a facility’s security department.

Security analysts make recommendations regarding security and safety procedures.

They develop security policies that keep facilities, employees, and clients safe from harm.

They also perform risk assessments and incident analyses, such as monitoring surveillance cameras, and assist with responding to security breaches.

Security analysts will be designated a security manager or a director of security.

Some analysts are designated chief security officers (CSOs), who are responsible for their own security departments.

Requirements And Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field (computer science, engineering, social sciences)
• 5+ years of related experience in cyber security or information technology
• Experience in security architecture, development, deployment, testing, and implementation
• Knowledge of web technologies and relational databases
