Security Architect Job Description

A security architect is a person who is responsible for ensuring the security of the IT infrastructure within an organization.

This role requires deep knowledge of cybersecurity and network design.

A security architect must be able to clearly articulate the cybersecurity risks to a business and come up with solutions to address each risk.

Additionally, a security architect must effectively collaborate with other IT staff and departments.

Job Brief:

We’re looking for a Security Architect who can help us design and implement security solutions that will protect our systems and data. The ideal candidate will have experience in designing and implementing security solutions, as well as experience in managing and monitoring security systems.

Security Architect Duties:

• Develop, implement, and maintain security architecture plans for all applications, databases, systems, and platforms
• Develop, implement, and maintain a security architecture roadmap
• Develop, implement, and maintain security requirements, standards, and policies.
• Create new security architecture plans, policies, and guidelines.
• Consult with end-users, IT representatives, management, and vendors on security architecture and technology-related initiatives.
• Implement security architecture plans, policies, and guidelines.
• Provide technical expertise on security architecture and technology-related initiatives.
• Develop, implement, and maintain security architecture roadmaps.

Security Architect Responsibilities:

• Maintain the security architecture, including network, server, and endpoint security, policies and risk governance
• Work closely with engineering to comply with enterprise security standards
• Build and maintain relationships with vendors, contractors, and peer organizations
• Oversee security, risk, and privacy impact assessments
• Identify security improvements and implement company-wide policies
• Promote and develop security awareness
• Conduct compliance audits of internal systems
• Liaise with government agencies, law enforcement, and regulatory agencies on security-related matters
• Manage security incident response

Requirements And Skills:

• Proven experience and ability in developing security architectures
• Knowledge of authentication, authorization, and audit (AAA) concepts
• Ability to design and implement security architectures that comply with industry best practices and relevant standards
• Knowledge of enterprise-wide security and/or network security technologies
