We’re looking for a Set Designer to work on our upcoming production. The ideal candidate will have experience in set design, and be able to create a vision for the production. They will be responsible for creating the set, and ensuring that it is functional and safe.
Set Designer Duties:
- Design sets and props for productions
- Identify elements to construct sets and props
- Research and set design elements, including color, texture, and patterns
- Promote set designs to contractors, carpenters, and engineers
- Scaffold and assemble sets and props
- Install lighting, sound, and curtains
- Make models, prototypes, and testing models
Set Designer Responsibilities:
- Develop 3D environments for film and TV
- Work with artists to design and visualize scenes, using 3D software
- Use visual and technical requirements to create appropriate and realistic environments
- Create storyboard presentations for filmmakers
- Research and source props, models, and other special items
- Create and maintain technical drawings, including blueprints and 3D models
- Manage set construction budgets
- Work with outside vendors, builders, and contractors
- Investigate and resolve production challenges

- Bachelor’s degree and 3+ years experience in a scenic art, production design, or architecture, drafting and design
