System Analyst Job Description

A system analyst is someone who is responsible for analyzing a company’s computer systems and processes for problems, identifying solutions, and implementing those solutions.

A system analyst may also create or update a company’s computer systems.

Job Brief:

We’re looking for a System Analyst to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience working with systems and data, and will be able to help us troubleshoot and improve our current system.

System Analyst Duties:

• Design, install, configure, and troubleshoot new software and hardware, as well as analyze and resolve operational problems
• Work with managers and other stakeholders to interpret goals, priorities, and constraints, as well as improve business processes
• Create functional specifications, implement operational procedures, and maintain functional consistency
• Develop, maintain, and implement technical standards
• Maintain current knowledge of emerging technology and industry standards
• Provide technical support for sales, installation, and service departments, as well as customers
• Assist in training new employees and existing staff
• Develop documentation, as well as test and implement new software or hardware
• Provide quality assurance and testing
• Develop and maintain standards and guidelines for employees

Requirements And Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in business or computer science
• 2+ years experience in a Systems Analyst role
• Ability to perform automated software testing, including creating and debugging test scenarios
• Strong coding ability in one or more scripting languages, such as Perl, PHP, Python, or Ruby
