Workforce Development Instructor Job Description
The Workforce Development Instructor (“WDI”) is a part-time, non-exempt, non-exempt, non-exempt academic position that is primarily responsible for teaching nine (9) credit hours of occupational and technical education courses each semester while holding an adjunct professorship with the Department of Business and Industry, Department of Business and Management, or Department of Management, Social Services, and Criminal Justice.
The WDI is a full-time, regular (non-exempt) academic position that consists of teaching six (6) credit hours of occupational and technical education courses each semester while holding an adjunct professional role with the School of Business.

Workforce Development Instructor Duties:
- Design curriculum for organization-wide training
- Develop and update training manuals, job aids, and related materials
- Implement training plan and coordinate with organization’s human resources department
- Deliver training
- Develop training materials
- Train management, staff, and personnel
- Other duties as requested
Workforce Development Instructor Responsibilities:
- Develop and oversee curriculum, instruction materials, and lesson plans for courses that develop the leadership and technical skills of employees
- Design and facilitate instructional programs, including classes in advanced leadership and communication skills, critical-thinking skills, and project management-Attend, prepare, and participate in job-related meetings, conferences, and forums
- Develop, maintain, and update job-related training materials, including in-house and online, development, and training materials
- Study and assess program or training effectiveness
Requirements And Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university
- 5+ years of experience in job training or educational instruction
- Experience teaching adult learners
- Experience in live and virtual training environments
- Strong knowledge of applicable training standards
- Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
