Youth Sports Instructor Duties:

• Develop lesson plans and instructional materials
• Train students both in and outside of the classroom
• Establish and enforce discipline in the classroom
• Use multimedia and other teaching techniques to enhance the learning experience
• Maintain classroom order and control
• Communicate effectively with students and school administration
• Develop students’ confidence and self-esteem
• Work cooperatively with parents, coaches, and school administration

Youth Sports Instructor Responsibilities:

• Ensure clubs, leagues, and camps operate in accordance with established policies and procedures
• Maintain records of attendance, registrations, fees, and supplies
• Track funding and expenses
• Maintain records of competitive and recreational teams
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment
• Ensure that all equipment and facilities are maintained in top condition
• Lead all teams and participate in games and practices
• Work with coaches to develop schedules, prepare materials, and enforce policies
• Conduct all tryouts, interviews, and team formation
• Maintain membership rosters and update files
• Develop and implement policies and procedures, and manage budgets
• Make regular visits to clubs and leagues, and maintain contact with parents and players
• Conduct staff meetings and training sessions
• Manage and supervise employees
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements And Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in physical education, recreation, or related field
• 2+ years of coaching experience
• Experience working with youth athletes
• Strong knowledge of basketball, soccer, lacrosse, and baseball techniques
• Excellent communication and people skills
