Cancer Registrar Duties:
- Support the cancer care team by collecting, organizing, and summarizing patient information
- Review medical records and hospital charts
- Maintain accurate and complete records
- Develop and maintain cancer registry data bank
- Review and approve medical records for completeness, accuracy, and adherence to established standards
- Maintain records of appeals, grievances, and litigation
- Evaluate information to suggest appropriate future services
- Establish and maintain communication with patients, families, providers, and other groups
Cancer Registrar Responsibilities:
- Attend multidisciplinary case conferences, conferences with patients, and one-on-one consultations with patients, families, and other advocates, as well as participate in all quality assurance processes
- Maintain and update physician order sets, develop and revise policies and procedures, and train staff in relevant areas
- Integrate with other departments, such as radiology, pathology, and laboratories, in addition to outside resources
- Provide administrative support to senior leadership
- Acquire and maintain certifications, including ACR and ANCC

- Ability to communicate effectively with both Doctors and patients
- Proven ability to determine accurate coding for procedures, and labs
