Computer Security Specialist Duties:

• Protect client and/or company data by implementing security measures that monitor and prevent electronic data security breaches
• Develop and implement computer security policies, standards, and procedures that will safeguard data
• Perform vulnerability testing, penetration testing, and code reviews
• Collaborate with system architects and developers to design and develop applications that maintain a high level of security
• Provide leadership and oversight to technical and non-technical staff on matters of security
• Obtain and maintain clearances that allow access to information
• Assisting in the hiring, training, and evaluation of employees
• May be responsible for supervising a team of employees

Computer Security Specialist Responsibilities:

• Design and implement computer security policies, procedures, and standards to protect against viruses, worms, and other malicious computer attacks
• Develop and periodically revise security policies and procedures
• Research and document security issues and vulnerabilities
• Identify, document, and analyze potential threats to computer and network resources
• Manage and troubleshoot security incidents
• Perform security risk assessments and penetration testing
• Write policies and procedures
• Manage and maintain records

Requirements And Skills:

• Sophos Certified Security Administrator (CSA) certification
• 2+ years experience securing client/server environments
• Knowledge of networking, firewalls, routers, and Active Directory
• Expert knowledge of Active Directory and Group Policy
• Knowledge of Windows servers including Active Directory
