A counseling psychologist involves helping patients cope with everyday problems.

Job Brief

We’re looking for a Counseling Psychologist to work with us in our new counseling center. The psychologist will be responsible for providing counseling and therapy to patients with a variety of mental health issues. The position is full-time and includes benefits.

Counseling Psychologist Duties

• Provide professional psychological evaluations to individuals, families, and groups
• Meet with patients to review reports and discuss clinical issues
• Make appropriate referrals to community agencies and other health care providers
• Conduct psychological research, and analyze and interpret information
• Develop and implement treatment plans
• Manage caseload in accordance with agency guidelines
• Perform other related duties as assigned

Counseling Psychologist Responsibilities

• Provide psychological evaluations, counseling, and case management services to patients, including conducting intake assessments and interviews and developing and implementing treatment plans
• Advise and counsel clients on how to improve personal and/or professional functioning and dealing with emotional or behavioral issues
• Create and update clinical notes
• Educate clients, family members, and other professionals about illness and disease processes
• Conduct research and apply evidence-based psychological treatments
• Manage administrative tasks, budgets, and schedules
• Attend team meetings
• Develop and maintain positive relationships with colleagues, supervisors, and other professionals

Requirements And Skills

• Therapist certification is preferred
• 2+ years of related experience
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Understanding of and experience working with children and their families
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams
• Knowledge of relevant research, practices, and standards
