Job Brief:
We’re looking for a General Practitioner to work in our clinic.
General Practitioner Duties:
- Perform surgical and non-surgical procedures such as removing tumors, treating injuries and illnesses, and performing minor surgical procedures
- Perform diagnostic procedures such as taking x-rays, blood tests, and biopsies
- Perform procedural and operative skills such as suturing and inserting needles
- Perform examinations of the eyes, ears, nose, throat, and skin
- Perform medical examinations such as blood pressure screenings, urine/serum tests, and electrocardiograms
- Prosecute x-rays and laboratory samples
- Perform other duties that may be required
General Practitioner Responsibilities:
- Prescribe medications and treatments, including IVs, and oversee their administration
- Identify patients’ needs, develop treatment plans, and order additional therapies
- Evaluate diagnostic data to develop treatment plans
- Hire, supervise, and evaluate medical assistants, nurses, and therapists
- Perform general surgery, including repair of hernias, gallbladders, and anal fissures
- Enroll new patients into insurance plans
- Maintain accurate patient files
- Perform administrative functions, including scheduling, billing, and insurance billing
- Meet with patients, their families, and other care team members
- Administer vaccines and tests
Requirements And Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) preferred
- 3+ years’ experience as a general practitioner
- Demonstrated ability to diagnose, treat, and manage simple and complex medical issues
- Demonstrated ability to obtain medical clearance authorizations from insurance providers
