Job Brief:
We’re looking for a Mechanical Project Engineer to work on a variety of projects. The engineer will be responsible for overseeing the project from start to finish, ensuring that all deadlines are met and that the project stays on budget. The engineer will also be responsible for communicating with the client throughout the project to ensure that they are happy with the progress.
Mechanical Project Engineer Duties:
- Identify and quantify project needs and assist in development of detailed specifications for projects
- Work with contractors to determine scope of work and timelines
- Provide input and recommendations for project designs
- Prepare detailed estimate
- Review and evaluate contractor proposals
- Develop and manage budgets
- Responsible for hiring and managing staff and subcontractor

Mechanical Project Engineer Responsibilities:
- Assist with preconstruction, construction, and postconstruction activities, including bid walks, preconstruction walks, in-progress site visits, punch walks, and construction closeout
- Coordinate material deliveries and ensure all materials on hand match the plan and specifications
- Maintain and update SOW and preconstruction documents
- Document quality assurance and safety inspections
- Prepare original and backup records, tables, diagrams, and drawings
- Prepare, schedule, and supervise field surveys and inspections of construction work
Requirements And Skills:
- A bachelor’s degree in engineering or a closely related field
- 2+ years’ experience as a mechanical engineer
- Knowledge of building codes and regulations
- Strong writing and communication skills
- Experience with mechanical and plumbing systems and equipment
- Expertise in HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and electrical system
