Nurse Technician Job Description

Nurse technicians provide direct patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse (RN) or licensed practical nurse (LPN).

Nursing technicians are specifically trained to perform tasks such as preparing patients for examinations, assisting with injections, or performing diagnostic procedures.

Nurse technicians also work closely with doctors and other healthcare professionals to provide patient care.

Nurse Technician Duties:

• Oversee and operate all patient care areas by supervising and directing all patient care functions
• Assist in diagnostic and therapeutic procedures
• Correctly and efficiently administer established physical therapy and other treatments
• Take vital signs
• Perform routine laboratory tests
• Perform other clerical/office duties
• Skill set required: CPR, First Aid
• Languages required: English, Spanish, Portuguese
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience needed

• Assist with medical charting under the direction of a licensed physician or registered nurse
• Perform direct patient care under the direction of a licensed physician or registered nurse
• Work in an environment that may involve risk of exposure to blood or other potentially infectious materials
• Work in an environment that may involve risk of exposure to blood or other potentially infectious materials
• Perform clinical duties under the direction of a licensed physician or registered nurse

Requirements And Skills:

• High School diploma/GED required
• 2+ years’ nursing experience
• Ability to communicate effectively with clients
• Must be a certified nursing assistant
• Ability to perform direct patient care including the administration of medications, treatments and procedures
• Ability to write nursing reports
• Must be willing to work weekends
