Underwriter Duties:
- Underwrite requests for proposals, review and analyze bids/opportunities, and negotiate pricing, terms and conditions
- Work with business owners and clients to determine project requirements, specifications and budgets
- Provide client advice on policy coverage, limits and deductibles
- Manage the underwriting process from initial contract through final closing
- Position the company as viable and competitive in the marketplace
Underwriter Responsibilities:
- Provide assistance with evaluating and structuring credit or insurance proposals, and recommending financial products and services for the bank
- Apply knowledge of market rates, underwriting guidelines, and regulatory requirements
- Maintain files and records, prepare reports, and handle correspondence
- Engage with customers to provide service, answer questions, and resolve problems
- Perform ongoing market research and data analysis
- Provide training and support for bank staff
Requirements And Skills:
- 5 year experience in the insurance industry
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
- Experience in underwriting all lines of personal insurance
- Knowledge of underwriting guidelines of the Insurance Services Office (ISO) as well as national insurance carriers
